Xue and the Clouds

A woman finds an unexpected way to feel good about herself in the middle of a life crisis.

Xue is an artist and a sensitive young asian woman who goes through a creative block in her painting process while starting a new job at a movie theater in a new city. Even when her new coworkers are friendly she is emotionally withdrawn as a way to avoid feeling vulnerable in the midst of all the big changes that come with her new independent life, which she is running in survival mode right now.

After work, without expecting it, she comes across a good looking guy at the bus stop. She is immediately attracted to him but too shy to say something. The handsome guy is so hooked up into his cellphone he barely looks away from it. The bus arrives, the guy leaves and Xue is left alone discovering how messy her hair was.

Within the coming days she keeps seeing him at the same spot, so she decides to improve her looks for him to notice her. But, right when she feels ready to talk to him she finds he is gone for good. What she discovers instead is her own transformed image and the feeling of self assurance she was looking for all this time, which finally allows her to connect with others and to keep on painting.
