Dr Glory! The Art, Activism, and Legacy of Dr. Glory Van Scott is a compelling and intimate documentary that celebrates the extraordinary life, work, and legacy of Dr. Glory Van Scott. A true Renaissance woman, Dr. Glory is a dancer, actress, playwright, educator, and activist whose career spans over six decades. From her performances with the Katherine Dunham and Agnes de Mille dance companies to her roles on Broadway and her work as a playwright and educator, Dr. Glory has used the arts as a platform for cultural expression, social justice, and empowerment.

This film will trace her journey from her sheltered early life in Chicago — marked by the traumatic loss of her cousin, Emmett Till — to New York City where amid the turbulence of civil rights struggles and social upheaval, Dr. Glory consistently chose the arts as her vehicle for connecting, teaching, and elevating the human spirit.

Featuring archival footage and photographs, rare performance clips, and interviews with Dr. Glory, friends, colleagues, mentors, and students, the documentary reveals how her work transcends category — blending activism, art, and education with an unshakable belief in the dignity, potential, and shared humanity of all people.
